These candied brown sugar bacon wrapped little smokies are the perfect party appetizer with only three ingredients and ready in under an hour. Sweet, salty, and smoky, they disappear faster than anything else on the table.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 14 oz package little smokies
  • 1 lb thin-cut bacon
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar (light or dark)
  • Optional: flaky sea salt, cayenne pepper, or smoked paprika for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top if available.
  2. Cut bacon strips in half crosswise.
  3. Wrap each little smokie with a half-strip of bacon, starting at one end and wrapping tightly. Secure with a toothpick pushed through the bacon and into the smokie.
  4. Pour brown sugar into a small bowl. Roll each bacon-wrapped smokie in the brown sugar, pressing gently to coat.
  5. Place coated smokies on the wire rack (or directly on foil-lined sheet), leaving space between each.
  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until bacon is crispy and caramelized. Rotate pan halfway through. If not using a rack, flip smokies at 20 minutes.
  7. Let rest for 5 minutes. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt if desired.
  8. Transfer to a serving platter and serve warm.

Notes

Use thin-cut bacon for best results. Pat smokies dry before wrapping to avoid sogginess. Watch sugar carefully near end of cooking to prevent burning. Let rest 5 minutes for glaze to set. Can be assembled up to 24 hours ahead and refrigerated. Reheat in oven or air fryer for best texture.
