This recipe features boneless, skin-on chicken thighs cooked in an air fryer to achieve a crispy texture, topped with a sticky, sweet, spicy, and tangy honey sriracha lime glaze. It’s quick, flavorful, and perfect for busy weeknights or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 boneless, skin-on chicken thighs (about 1.5 lbs / 680 g)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice (from 1 large lime)
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Pat the boneless chicken thighs dry with paper towels to remove moisture for crispier skin.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the chicken thighs with olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  4. Place the chicken thighs skin-side down in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they do not touch.
  5. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 12 minutes.
  6. Using tongs, flip the chicken thighs skin-side up and cook for an additional 8-10 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the skin is golden and crispy.
  7. While the chicken cooks, whisk together honey, sriracha, fresh lime juice, and lime zest in a small bowl. Adjust sriracha or honey to taste.
  8. Transfer the cooked chicken to a serving plate and brush the honey sriracha lime glaze generously over the top.
  9. Sprinkle chopped fresh cilantro over the glazed chicken if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

Patting the chicken dry before seasoning is essential for crispy skin. Preheat the air fryer to ensure immediate crisping. Avoid overcrowding the basket to allow proper air circulation. Use a meat thermometer to confirm the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). If the chicken isn’t crispy enough, air fry for an additional 2-3 minutes skin side up, watching carefully to prevent burning. For leftovers, reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for about 5 minutes to restore crispness. Avoid microwaving to prevent rubbery skin.
