This easy copycat Starbucks pumpkin cream cold foam is a quick and simple recipe that lets you enjoy that cozy pumpkin flavor at home without the drive-thru wait. Made with real cream and pumpkin, it’s creamy, spiced, and perfect for fall mornings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream (or heavy whipping cream, at least 36% milk fat)
  • 1 tablespoon whole milk (or 2%)
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons vanilla syrup (or maple syrup)
  • 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tiny splash vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

  1. Gather your ingredients. Make sure your heavy cream is very cold. Fill your coffee cup with ice for iced coffee, or brew hot coffee and set aside.
  2. In a small bowl or tall cup, combine 2 tablespoons heavy cream, 1 tablespoon whole milk, and 1 tablespoon pumpkin puree. Stir to break up the puree.
  3. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons vanilla syrup, 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice, 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon, a tiny splash of vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Stir to combine.
  4. Froth the mixture using a handheld frother for 20-30 seconds until thick and creamy, or use a French press (pump plunger 30 seconds) or a mason jar (shake vigorously for 1 minute). The foam should hold a soft peak.
  5. Check consistency: if too runny, froth 10 more seconds; if too stiff, add a splash of milk and stir gently.
  6. Prepare your coffee: fill cup with ice (for iced) or pour hot coffee into a mug, leaving about an inch of space at the top.
  7. Using a spoon, gently scoop the pumpkin cream cold foam onto the top of the coffee to create a layered look.
  8. Dust the top with extra pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a stronger pumpkin flavor, add an extra 1/2 tablespoon pumpkin puree. If foam is too thin, cream may not be cold enough or frothing time insufficient; chill bowl and try again. If too thick, add a splash of milk. Store leftover foam in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours; re-froth gently before use. Do not freeze.
