Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 cup cauliflower florets
  • 1 cup carrot sticks
  • 1 cup cucumber slices (rounds)
  • 1 cup grape tomatoes
  • 1 cup bell pepper strips (any color)
  • 1/2 cup celery sticks
  • 1/2 cup radishes, sliced thin (optional)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix (or 2 tablespoons homemade)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Make the ranch dip first. In a medium mixing bowl, combine sour cream, Greek yogurt, ranch seasoning mix, fresh dill (if using), garlic powder, onion powder, and lemon juice. Whisk until smooth and creamy. Add salt and pepper to taste. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes (or up to overnight).
  2. Prep the broccoli and cauliflower. Rinse 2 cups broccoli florets and 1 cup cauliflower florets under cold water. Pat completely dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels. Cut any large florets into smaller, bite-sized pieces.
  3. Cut the vegetables. Slice carrot sticks into 3-inch lengths. Cut cucumber into round slices about 1/4-inch thick. Slice bell pepper into thin strips. Cut celery into 3-inch sticks. If using radishes, slice them thin (about 1/8-inch thick). Keep grape tomatoes whole.
  4. Assemble the monster mash. Place the small bowl of ranch dip in the center of a large serving platter. Pile the veggies around it in clusters—broccoli, carrots, tomatoes, etc. Overlap them to create a chaotic, monster-like texture.
  5. Add monster details. Use two cucumber slices with a small dollop of ranch in the center as ‘eyes.’ Arrange bell pepper strips to look like a jagged mouth. Scatter radish slices like freckles or warts. Place celery sticks sticking out like antennae or bones.
  6. Chill before serving. Cover the platter loosely with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes to keep veggies crisp and dip cold. If serving immediately, skip this step.
  7. Serve and enjoy. Place the platter on the table with small plates and napkins. Let everyone grab their own ‘monster parts’ and dip into the center bowl.

Notes

Dry veggies thoroughly to prevent soggy dip. Cut veggies uniform in size for easy dipping. Chill the dip longer (overnight) for best flavor. Don’t overcomplicate the monster design—messy is the point. Use a variety of textures (crunchy, soft, fluffy) for best results.
