A quick and easy dip combining sweet and spicy candied jalapenos with creamy cream cheese, perfect for gatherings and snack cravings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 34 tablespoons candied jalapenos with syrup
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lime juice
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro or chives, finely chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese by leaving it out for 20-30 minutes or microwaving for 10 seconds (do not melt).
  2. Measure 3 to 4 tablespoons of candied jalapenos with their syrup, keeping some syrup for flavor.
  3. In a medium mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, honey, lime juice, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Stir until smooth and creamy, about 1-2 minutes.
  4. Gently fold in the candied jalapenos and their syrup, keeping pepper slices visible.
  5. If using, fold in the chopped fresh cilantro or chives.
  6. Taste and adjust heat by adding more candied jalapenos or sweetness with extra honey; adjust salt as needed.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let flavors meld and dip firm up.
  8. Serve chilled or at room temperature with crackers, toasted baguette slices, or fresh vegetable sticks.

Notes

Use full-fat cream cheese for richness or low-fat for a lighter version. For a smoother texture, briefly blend in a food processor but folding by hand keeps appealing chunks. Chill dip for at least 30 minutes for best flavor. Adjust sweetness and heat to taste. Can be made dairy-free with vegan cream cheese and maple syrup. Leftovers keep well refrigerated for up to 4 days. Freezing is not recommended with jalapenos mixed in.
