A simple and refreshing detox water made with fresh cucumber, mint leaves, and chilled filtered water. Perfect for staying hydrated with a subtle, crisp flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 medium fresh cucumber, thinly sliced (English cucumber recommended)
  • 10 to 15 fresh mint leaves, gently bruised
  • 1 quart (4 cups or 950 ml) cold filtered water, chilled
  • Ice cubes (optional, for serving)
  • Optional add-ins: thin lemon slices or a splash of fresh lime juice

Instructions

  1. Rinse the cucumber and mint leaves under cold water and pat dry.
  2. Slice the cucumber into thin, even slices about 1/8 inch (3 mm) thick.
  3. Place the mint leaves in a pitcher and gently bruise them with a muddler or the back of a spoon to release oils.
  4. Add the cucumber slices on top of the mint leaves in the pitcher.
  5. Pour 1 quart (4 cups or 950 ml) of chilled filtered water into the pitcher.
  6. Stir gently to mix the flavors.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour; for best flavor, refrigerate 3-4 hours or overnight.
  8. Serve cold over ice cubes if desired, garnished with a mint sprig or cucumber slice.
  9. Refill the pitcher with water once it is halfway gone; the cucumber and mint will continue to infuse for up to 24 hours.

Notes

Do not over-muddle the mint to avoid bitterness. Use filtered or spring water for best taste. Infuse overnight for deeper flavor. Replace ingredients every 24 hours for freshness. Optional add-ins include lemon slices, lime juice, or ginger for variation.
