These spooky easy mummy pigs in a blanket are the perfect last-minute Halloween appetizer. Made with just three ingredients, they’re quick, cute, and always the first to disappear from the snack table.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (8 count) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 8 hot dogs (standard size)
  • Yellow mustard (for the eyes)
  • Optional: Ketchup or ranch dressing (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it along the perforated lines into 8 triangles. Use a pizza cutter or sharp knife to cut each triangle lengthwise into 3 thin strips (24 strips total).
  3. Wrap each hot dog with 3 strips of dough. Start at one end and wrap diagonally, leaving a small gap near the top for the eyes. Don’t wrap too tightly. Tuck the ends of the dough under the hot dog to secure them.
  4. Place the wrapped mummies on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between each one.
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Let them cool for 2-3 minutes on the baking sheet. While they’re cooling, pour a small amount of mustard into a bowl.
  7. Add the eyes: Dip a toothpick into the mustard and dot two small eyes onto each mummy.
  8. Serve warm.

Notes

Cold dough is easier to work with. If the dough gets too warm, refrigerate for 5 minutes before cutting. Don’t wrap too tightly to allow the dough to puff. Add mustard eyes after baking to prevent burning. For best results, serve within 15 minutes of baking. Leftovers can be reheated in a 350°F oven for 5 minutes (not the microwave).
