These White Chocolate Witch Finger Pretzels are a fun and easy Halloween treat that combines salty pretzel rods with creamy white chocolate and almond fingernails. They’re creepy, cute, and absolutely delicious.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 24 pretzel rods (thick, sturdy ones like Snyder’s or Utz)
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips (Ghirardelli or Guittard recommended)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or vegetable shortening
  • Green gel food coloring (Americolor ‘Leaf Green’ recommended)
  • 24 whole almonds, slivered almonds, or sliced almonds
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • Optional: Red gel food coloring or red sanding sugar for ‘blood’
  • Optional: Black or orange sprinkles
  • Optional: Edible glitter dust

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Melt the white chocolate chips and coconut oil together in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth. Stop when about 75% melted and stir until residual heat melts the rest.
  3. Add green gel food coloring gradually, starting with a tiny amount (tip of a toothpick), and stir until you achieve a pale, sickly green. Add almond extract if using.
  4. Dip each pretzel rod into the green white chocolate, coating about two-thirds of the pretzel. Let excess drip off.
  5. Place dipped pretzels on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about an inch apart.
  6. While the chocolate is still wet, press one almond (pointed end outward) onto the tip of each pretzel, overlapping the end by about 1/4 inch.
  7. Chill the pretzels for 15 minutes to set the base layer.
  8. After chilling, use a piping bag or zip-top bag with a tiny corner snipped off filled with leftover green white chocolate to pipe small lines across each ‘finger’ for knuckles and cuticle wrinkles.
  9. Optional: Dip a toothpick in red food coloring and dab a tiny bit at the base of each almond nail for ‘blood’.
  10. Chill again for 15-30 minutes until fully set.
  11. Serve or store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.

Notes

Use gel food coloring, not liquid, to avoid thinning the chocolate. Work in small batches to keep chocolate at the right consistency. If white chocolate seizes, try adding a teaspoon of coconut oil and stirring vigorously. Let pretzels come to room temperature before dipping to prevent breakage.
